Advertise
Three positions, plainly labelled, with no tracking of any kind — what we sell, what we will not sell, and what it costs.
What we sell
Three positions, all of them plain text, a link and at most one image that we host ourselves. The leaderboard sits directly under the lead story, where every reader passes. The in-feed unit sits between the day’s stories and the back catalogue. The third sits further down, under the archive. Nothing appears inside Ask the Uncle or inside a course: a reader typing a question or part way through a lesson is doing the one thing here that should not be interrupted.
What we will not sell
No ad network, no third-party script, no iframe, no pixel, no retargeting and no identifier of any kind. This is a condition of carrying advertising at all, not a feature we are offering: the privacy page says nothing about you is collected, and that has to stay true. In practice it means we cannot report who clicked, only how many times a page was served. If you need per-user attribution, we are the wrong paper.
Every unit is labelled
Each paid placement carries the word SPONSORED above it and your name below it, in the same position every time. We do not run advertorial, we do not write copy that reads like our own stories, and we will not place a unit next to a story about you without telling you which story.
Specification
Headline up to 60 characters. Body up to 180. One call to action up to 24. One optional image, 2:1, at least 1200 pixels wide, as JPEG or PNG, which we serve from our own domain — so it also has to be yours to use. We will tell you if the copy does not fit rather than cutting it ourselves.
Rates
Launch rates, by the week, one advertiser per position per day: leaderboard £180, in-feed £120, lower unit £60. All three for £300. These are a starting position while the paper is new and the audience is small, and they are negotiable — we would rather carry one advertiser we are glad to be next to than fill three slots.
What you should know before you buy
The Nerd Uncle is new. It publishes every morning, it has a reader app on the App Store, and the honest answer about circulation is that we will tell you the real number for the week before yours when you ask, rather than a range. We do not have a media kit with a projection in it.
How to book
Email advertise@thenerduncle.ai with the position, the week you want and your copy. We will come back with a yes or a no within two working days, and a proof of exactly how it will look before anything runs.
